Who's That Donor!

What a weekend!!! 

I pretty much slept 3 days of my life away BUT we have some baby developments to share.

On Mon. went to our consultation at Pacific Reproductive Services. We met with a very nice NP named Ingrid and she was very impressed by us. She said we were really on top of things and knew what we were talking about. She said we should narrow our 8 donor choices down to about a top 3 (more on this later) and gave us some information on inseminating at home and some timing assistance. I am so glad we went because some of the information she gave us we didn’t know (SHOCKING I KNOW!!!) She also discussed the success rate of at home ICI ‘s (intracervical insemination) which is about 6-9%. We are not swayed by this number. We know how prepared we are and how much we want it to happen at home where J is the one actually getting me pregnant. But we also liked that she validated our timeline of 3 tries at home before we move onto IUI’s (intrauterine insemination) which has a better success rate. (about 15%)

We also got to check out the long profiles for our list of donor’s and surprisingly their baby photo’s if they were available. We may have snapped a few pics of the pics too ;) What they are $25.00 each if you want to buy them! Don't judge! We LOVED this part and it made the donor’s so much more human and we really had fun looking through all their information. We narrowed it down from 8 to 4, all of which have pictures and now we refer to them by nicknames. We have 1.) The Actor 2.) Bocelli 3.) The Comedian and 4.) The Chiropractor. J’s heart was set on the actor from the time we first read his profile and his traits are incredible, we are being a little bit shallow though in that we don’t LOVE his baby picture, the kid has a huge forehead!! BUT he is also in a sailor suit which we think might be a sign since the infamous sailor suits are a thing in my family. LOL We also LOVE Bocelli, he is ADORABLE and HILARIOUS. He actually wasn’t on our original list, we saw his picture and just had to read about him. He also has alot of J’s Italian/Sicillian traits so we like that too. The Chiropractor is also adorable and has some of my traits and some of J’s. Plus we LOVE some of his answers of his long profile. The comedian was originally #2 on our list and he is still on it with his dimples and dark hair.

We are thinking of playing a little “Who’s that Donor” game with my family to have some fun with this, we want to make our own decisions first though so we aren’t tempted by other peoples opinions of the potential gene’s!!
Also, all 4 donors are “Willing to be Known” which we will discuss in a later post. :)
