The clinic requires that all patients using donor sperm, eggs or a surrogate do to a 1 hour counseling session/interview. We went and saw their recommended Dr. and he was really great, it wasn't scary at all and he had the most comfortable couch! As he should, right!? :)
It was more of an interview than just going in and talking about how we feel, but it was great and we got some really good perspective. Overall we enjoyed it and if we have any issues or things we want to talk about down the road we have him as a resource.
We also came away with a great idea to write our own children's book about our child's "story" of life to help explain everything to them in a kid friendly way. We are going to do it!!
